I assume you released the piston and pressed it back into the cylinder before trying to fit the new pads-
They will not fit unless you get that piston driven back
I had to ever so cautiously put a TINY bit of pressure on the front brake lever to release the piston - then with it slipped back - everything fit in perfectly
This is assuming of course that your dealer did not rip you off with wrong parts.
Keep the rubber side down
